If you’re thinking of leaving your dog at a boarding facility while you’re out of town, here are some tips for making the booking process easier. Before booking a sitter, make sure you provide the sitter with a few details about your pet, including the type of dog you have, its temperament, and any special care it needs. Often, dog boarding facilities require a certain set of vaccinations in order to care for a pet properly.

One of the most common mistakes pet owners make when booking a sitter is booking too few visits. For a dog to enjoy indoor play and a long walk, a minimum of 60 minutes per visit is recommended. You can also choose to include a short potty break and a meal if you prefer, though this will not be feasible for every schedule. For best results, book at least two 45-60 minute visits per day.

Once you’ve selected a sitter, you can chat with them through the Wag! app. You’ll be guided through the registration process, and a list of nearby dog boarders will appear on the screen. Select a caregiver and enter payment information to complete the booking. Wag! allows you to chat with the sitter and send pictures of your pup during the stay. You can also specify any special instructions your pup has for the sitter.
